in-house, but the full scale development is beyond the capabilities of the
company. In all of these cases,

General Project Salvaging
Many times corporations undertake
projects with every intention of staying on top of the numerous issues
that always arise in any application development effort. Without the
dedicated time to manage these issues, the projects can quickly start to
get out of control. Our consultants can help you to get your project back
on track by providing you with an assessment of what the critical risks
are and options to resolve issues. We can provide you with the development
expertise you need, or provide a dedicated project management consultant
to help ensure successful completion of your project. |

Access Application Salvaging
Many of our clients have developed
their own Access database applications. When Microsoft designed Access, it
was intended as a tool for power users and casual developers to use and
develop smaller applications. This ability for users to build applications
can be a double-edge sword. Many times a developer can accomplish
great things using the tools that Microsoft provides. Occasionally,
though, users will get in over their heads, and need an expert to come in
to simplify and straighten out their project. Other times, companies will
have projects where the consultant no longer supports the application for
some reason. Our clients have found that we can quickly understand
the existing framework and help maintain or salvage these projects. Access
can be an extremely powerful tool when used and managed correctly.
Managed Business Consulting, Inc.
can help take your Access projects and Access Tracking software to higher
levels. |

for whatever reason, the consultant can no longer be of service.

Excel Application Salvaging
Often, managers or other power users
develop applications in Excel. Excel is a great tool for taking data and
analyzing it, manipulating it and prototyping how an application might
behave. At some point in the process, Excel spreadsheets become too
unwieldy to manage. This is the point at which MS Access can be used to
help you scale to the next level. Access can do almost everything that
Excel can do, provided that the Excel calculations and analysis are well
defined and stable. Excel is better when you need a blank sheet of paper
each time, or when data requirements are still in a state of flux. Access
applications can be written that codify and document the process that was
designed and created in Excel.
Managed Business Consulting, Inc.
consultants have a great deal of experience converting such spreadsheets
to Access applications. |
